skulls-bones - a self-destructive habit

What causes a person to become at peace with a self-destructive habit, like smoking cigarettes? Even when that person does not like the smell and the taste of them.

A cloud of toxic smoke drifting into the air from the top of one’s head is not an inspiring sight. It shows a sign of weakness given what that person is knowingly doing to themselves.

And what an awful companion to have. A killer in the midst with every breath inhaled. And not able or willing to escape the poisonous fumes when knowing better. What type of personality is this?

Bad habits can be broken if there is a will to do so. But there are those who find comfort and companionship in appeasing the enemy. An enemy that is a waste of money and a disaster to health.

While knowing better, a cloud of noxious smoke fill the moments for that person. Smokey moments that subtracts moments from that person’s life. It is not a matter of strength. It is a matter of that person allowing a deadly habit to comfort them.

Why does a person willfully entertain a self-destructive habit? A habit that does not give them any pleasure engaging in.

Having overcome other bad habits this is the clinging one that the person still holds to. And why is that, seeing that the person knows that it is lethal? Not only lethal, but bad smelling and tasting as well.

A person may be at an age in life where they feel no need to address their deadly habit. Yet, regardless of age, it is always positive and satisfying to be in control of oneself.

For no other reasons than this poisonous habits need to be eliminated from daily practices.
