Modern Medicine vs. Natural Healing: Finding Balance

medications1 - Modern Medicine vs. Natural Healing

Modern Medicine vs. Natural Healing: Finding Balance: Medical physicians and psychiatrist are the biggest drug pushers. They are encouraged to promote and distribute drugs by the pharmaceutical industry that gives them a cut in their profits. This is not saying anything new, as people have known this for decades.

There is nothing wrong with an industry promoting it’s products. Yet, there should be a higher level of discretion when it comes to medications. This includes a high emphasis on the medication addictive properties.

The body is its own physician. Injecting manufactured products into it may inhibit its natural abilities to cure itself. This is by no means saying that produced medical products shouldn’t be used. Far from it.

This is saying that illness is part of an evolutionary process that produces stronger bodies and minds. The downside of that evolutionary process is that it takes many generations and hundreds to thousands of years to finish.

So, what should one do in the meantime to avoid pain and suffering? And what are modern developments, like technology and medications doing to disrupt this natural biological process? Can it get to a point where humans are incapable of living without manufactured medicine?

There are social, scientific, and personal questions having many pros and cons to this. Suffering when it can be avoided or alleviated makes no sense. Yet, most medications are designed to produce addiction either physically or psychologically, or both. The aim is not to cure but to make money by producing a permanent consumer class.

Ask your health care provider about how your prescribed medications work. Find out which ones are no longer useful. It is normal for a medication to become useless. You may need a stronger dose, or a new medication.

It is also helpful to get other opinions, just be incredibly careful of the Internet. Always pay attention to your body’s built-in diagnostic tools. They are your first signals that something is not right.

So, can you trust your physician and psychiatrist with the medications prescribed for you? Hopefully you can. In general, you can. But after passing through an assembly line of people during the day anyone is prone to make a mistake. And there are forces beyond healthcare that has a fix in the equations.

Modern Medicine vs. Natural Healing: Striking the Balance

Medicine has always been a double-edged sword. On one hand, physicians and psychiatrists prescribe treatments that save lives and ease suffering. On the other, the pharmaceutical industry’s influence raises questions about profit motives. It also raises concerns about dependency and whether we’re losing touch with the body’s natural ability to heal itself.

This tension isn’t new — people have debated it for decades. But in today’s world of advanced technology and manufactured drugs, the stakes feel higher than ever.

⏳ An Hour and a Half Before Thursday Slips Away

Dream (12) - An Hour and a Half Before Thursday Slips Away

The Quiet Passing of Time

An hour and a half before Thursday slips into history. The ticking of a clock seems unremarkable. Yet, it signals another day lived. It marks another page turned in the calendar of life. Time does not pause; it moves quietly, steadily, carrying us forward whether we notice or not.

What Becomes of a Day?

Each day asks a silent question: what was made of me? Was there a cheerful greeting, a pleasant conversation, a moment of kindness? Or was it simply a day of solitude, uneventful yet harmless? Perhaps meaning is not found in grand accomplishments, but in the absence of harm—living gently, leaving no scars.

Expectation or Enjoyment?

Is it reasonable to expect every day to hold meaning? Or should we simply live each day as it comes, enjoying its quiet rhythm without demand? A day without harm, without bitterness, is a day well spent. That alone means enough.

The Universe and Awareness

The universe itself may be unconscious, indifferent to the hours we count. Or perhaps it is aware of every element within it, including this hour and a half before Thursday fades. Either way, time is our invention, not the universe’s. Yet for us—cognitive beings—the passing of hours is deeply significant.

The Calendar Counts Down

The calendar is counting down to nothing. That is the truth of mortality. But within that countdown lies the importance of each day. Even a day spent alone, even a day without “significance,” is still a day lived. And that matters.

How Many Thursdays?

How many “hour and a half before Thursday is gone” moments will a person live? No one knows—not even those closest to the end. In that ignorance lies freedom. The next Thursday can be anticipated without fear. And the longer one lives, the more Thursdays will quietly come and quietly go.

A Self-destructive Habit

skulls-bones - a self-destructive habit

What causes a person to become at peace with a self-destructive habit, like smoking cigarettes? Even when that person does not like the smell and the taste of them.

A cloud of toxic smoke drifting into the air from the top of one’s head is not an inspiring sight. It shows a sign of weakness given what that person is knowingly doing to themselves.

And what an awful companion to have. A killer in the midst with every breath inhaled. And not able or willing to escape the poisonous fumes when knowing better. What type of personality is this?

Bad habits can be broken if there is a will to do so. But there are those who find comfort and companionship in appeasing the enemy. An enemy that is a waste of money and a disaster to health.

While knowing better, a cloud of noxious smoke fill the moments for that person. Smokey moments that subtracts moments from that person’s life. It is not a matter of strength. It is a matter of that person allowing a deadly habit to comfort them.

Why does a person willfully entertain a self-destructive habit? A habit that does not give them any pleasure engaging in.

Having overcome other bad habits this is the clinging one that the person still holds to. And why is that, seeing that the person knows that it is lethal? Not only lethal, but bad smelling and tasting as well.

A person may be at an age in life where they feel no need to address their deadly habit. Yet, regardless of age, it is always positive and satisfying to be in control of oneself.

For no other reasons than this poisonous habits need to be eliminated from daily practices.

In a Moments Heat: Words, Regret, and Self-Discipline

Arguing - in a moments heat

🔥 The Heat of the Moment

Why am I allowing words to be put in my mouth in a moment’s heat? Saying things that I don’t mean. Or I could be experiencing cognitive dissonance having two conflicting beliefs and feelings. Saying what I mean, but don’t really mean.

When the tensions have eased, I regret what I have said which has no effect. Regretting has no effect because what I said has been heard and my regretting does not take away the hearing.

An apology may soften the insult or hurt that I inflicted with heated words. Nonetheless, an apology does not erase memories. Memories that linger and fuel the next heated encounter.

The desire is not to have a next heated encounter, but human nature is what it is. The reasonable response is to be conscious of the moment and self-disciplined, which will resolve many issues before they begin.

The natural tendency is to score points in an argument, but scoring points is not consistent with good relationships building. And a strong relationship is the desired goal if you care for someone.

Knowing this to be the desired goal. Why am I allowing my mouth to have sway over my behavior in a moment’s heat? Is it because of a perceived commanding influence, or a lack of empathy? Or perhaps I am expressing feelings that I am not willing to accept.

🧠 Cognitive Dissonance

Whatever it is, I need to stop doing it. That is if I genuinely want a strong, solid relationship with the person involved. It could be that I do, and that I don’t. This is where cognitive dissonance gets involved. Not knowing your own mind under certain circumstances and during a given situation.

🌱 Path Toward Change

So, is there help for me? Yes, there is help for me. That help comes in the form of self-evaluation and being willing to change undesirable behaviors and patterns of thinking.

This is not a straightforward task as want and need does not equate to positive actions. Especially when an object or person is pushing against you trying to make their points.

🌞 The Metaphor of Dawn and Noon

At the beginning of dawn, the rays of enlightenment start shinning and as the moments past those rays become brighter. During the noon of the day those rays of enlightenment are their most intense.

This is when understanding of self can be achieved to its fullness, hopefully. If not, the rays of dawn will come again giving another chance to self-evaluate and elevate.

Let us make sure that our dawn rays shine always. With that, our love and respect for one another should be stronger at the noon of the day.

When you visit a doctor: Why You Should Never Be Ashamed to Tell Your Doctor the Truth

When you visit a doctor, honesty is one of the most powerful tools you bring with you. It may feel awkward to share certain details. Still, your perspective gives your doctor vital clues. These clues can shape a correct diagnosis.

A Story of Withheld Truth

Consider the case of a patient who developed an unusual eye discharge. After being kissed, they noticed fluid running from their eyes. It wasn’t painful, but it blurred their vision and became so irritating that they scheduled an appointment with an optometrist.

During the visit, the patient described the symptoms but left out one crucial detail—the discharge began after that kiss. Out of embarrassment, they withheld the truth.

As a result, the optometrist treated the condition as if it were dry eye syndrome or another common issue. The prescribed therapies didn’t work. The real cause—exposure to bacteria—remained hidden, and the problem persisted.

Why Honesty Matters

Doctors rely on both their training and the information you give. If you leave out key details, even unintentionally, they’re forced to treat only what seems most likely. That can mean weeks or months of ineffective treatment.

By being open, you give your doctor the full picture. Even if they don’t take your words at face value, your insight can guide them toward the right path.

Overcoming the Fear of Embarrassment

It’s natural to feel hesitant. Many patients worry about being judged or dismissed. But your health is too important to let shame silence you. Some doctors will listen deeply, others may not—but your voice still matters. And if you don’t feel heard, seeking a second opinion is always a choice.

The Takeaway

Being honest with your doctor may feel humbling initially. Yet, it can mean the difference between ongoing discomfort and lasting relief. Open communication is not just helpful—it’s essential for effective treatment.

Your story matters. Your voice matters. And your honesty is the key to your healing.
